Internship in Japan

The Asia NZ Foundation is currently advertising an internship opportunity with Kyushu Railway Company in Fukuoka for non-native Japanese speakers who have also studied Commerce, Science or Engineering.  The application deadline is October 3rd.  Final-year undergraduateor post graduate students are preferred. The internship runs for 6 weeks from mid January to near the end of February 2015.

Here is a link to the webpage showing the KRC and other internships.

Past experience has shown that successful applicants have studied Japanese since high school and have typically been on an exchange to Japan during their degree or been immersed for a decent period by some other means and are already speaking conversational Japanese at least. The Asia NZ Foundation has been running this programme since the 2009/2010 NZ summer and all interns have reported they found the experiential learning opportunity KRC offers to be highly rewarding from a professional development perspective. The interns live in the company dormitory and conduct almost all of their interactions in Japanese during the internship period. The Foundation covers the intern’s costs.

Please consider applying via the link above.
